The Journal

Notes on getting found.

Essays on AI visibility, search, and building a business that machines can recommend — written for owners, not marketers.

Three threads run through it. AI visibility: how assistants decide which businesses to name when a customer asks, and what a site has to say to be one of them. Agentic websites: sites that measure, ask, publish, and report on a schedule, so they stay current after launch instead of going quiet. Practical AI: plain tutorials on the tools an owner actually touches, written for someone who has no intention of becoming a technician.

Every piece starts from a real question and answers it near the top. Where a number appears, its source is named. Where we don't know, we say so. Tutorials are dated and re-checked when the interface changes, because a guide that describes last year's screen is worse than none.

If you're new here, start with one of the three below. Each is the first piece in its thread, and each links onward.
